Jackslantern is the Pumpkin Complien. It belongs to the Flora and Fire Elements. It doesn't grow into or from anything.
Its head is a large pumpkin with a carved face and a candle on top. The face has two, circular eyes, a pointed nose, and a smiling mouth with four teeth. Its body consists of a large stalk with two arms and leaves at the top.
Typically, Jackslanterns hang out around fields, popping up to scare away predators. Occasionally, farmers will tame them in order to serve as scarecrows, as the sudden appearance of the Jackslantern can scare away certain pests. However, around Halloween, Jackslanterns start migrating to more urban areas, waiting to give kids a good scare. While often they are successful, sometimes a child will just find the Jackslantern silly, and give them a little bit of candy for fun. Jackslanterns usually try to avoid hurting other Compliens, and overall, are actually a pretty friendly species, even if they are always fans of a good scare. In the end, Jackslanterns are mostly harmless, though against certain predators, they are willing to go into an attack mode, and start hitting them with powerful fire attacks. Occasionally, when moving from one place to another, they have trouble, since their big heads have trouble moving through the ground. Although they are often helpful to farmers, they can also be a bit of a nuisance, since when moving, often they accidentally end up tearing up the ground, even though they don't intend it.
